Our Nature Beginning classes offer a beautiful, first learning experience for young children, ages 18 months-3 years, and their caregivers. We believe in safeguarding the spirit and wonder of childhood – slowing down, being present, and observing young children as they explore the world around them. Ann Pelo, an early childhood educator and local writer suggests that to truly connect ourselves and our children to the greatness found in nature, one must “stand on that ground until it becomes dear to you and then open your arms to the whole wide world.” We couldn’t agree more.
Our program brings families together to connect with one another, and with nature, in an intentional and mindful way. We support and encourage the natural development of the whole child – head, heart, and hands. Following the same purposeful rhythm week after week, we begin our mornings with forest play followed by a simple gathering time and a wholesome and nourishing snack. We finish our day with a special story.
Classes meet once a week for a ten-week session and are led by an experienced early childhood educator who cares deeply about supporting each parent/caregiver and child on their own individual journey, in nature, and beyond.
We’re located at Royal Arch Park in Maple Valley, WA.
